DIY easy foam pouch

FullSizeRender-15

Hello, I’m back! And this time I’m going to show you how to make this cute little pouch. You can use it as a wallet, or just as a place to put all small necessary things. It is really easy, and only costs about half an hour to make.

FullSizeRender-6What you’ll need:

  • Eva Foam (18 cm x 12 cm)
  • A zip
  • Needle and thread
  • Optionally other colours of foam for decoration

Step 1: Lay the foam down on the zipper and sew it down. I used a double thread to make it stronger.

Step 2: Fold around the other side of the foam and sew it to the other side of the zipper

This is how it should look:

Step 4:

Tuck in the bits of the zipper that stick out and press down the foam. Now. take your thread and sew one of the sides shut.

Do the same with the other side

Step 5: You’re almost done! The only things left to do are trim of the loose threads and decorate.

And you’re done!

It’s a super convenient pouch to keep things like make-up but you can also use it as a wallet. Another advantage is that you can easily customise it, using any colour and decorations you like.

DIY penguin phone case

Hi guys, today I’m going to show you how to make this cute phone case. The cool thing is that you can make it yourself entirely and it isn’t that hard either. The case is made using Eva Foam, which is really handy because you are able to use all the buttons on you case trough the foam.

What you’ll need:

  • Black, white and yellow  Eva Foam
  • Scissors
  • Stanley Knife
  • Glue (I used Bizon Kit, but any strong glue will do)
  • A sharpie

Step 1: Make a stencil

FullSizeRender-40

Print a profile of your phone from the internet and draw little wings a bit above the middle. They don’t have to be exactly symmetrical.

Step 2: Trace your stencil onto the black foam and cut it out, make sure to leave about 5mm of foam around the stencil.

Step 3: Cut out a long strip of black foam that is as thick as your phone.

◊ Before you continue, you might want to wrap your phone in kitchen plastic to protect it from the glue.

Step 4: Wrap the strip around your phone and cut it to the right size. Glue the ends together so it forms a circle.

Step 5: Glue the circle with your phone in it to your black foam. Make sure to cover the whole circle before you stick it.

(Sorry for the bad quality, I couldn’t use my own phone as it was wrapped in kitchen plastic)

Step 6: While you wait for this to dry, cut out the form of your phone again, this time in white foam. Again, make sure you leave a border of around 5 mm. Then, trace the form of your phone in it and cut it out with your stanley knife. This should be the result:

Step 6: Take the white border and stick it onto the circle around your phone.

This is how it should look

Step 7: Now we’re going to decorate the case.

From the inside of the white border, cut the form of a penguin’s body. Draw eyes on with a Sharpie and optionally paint a little blush on it. Then, use yellow foam to make the beak and feet and you’re done!

(Only after finishing the case I realised I forgot to make a camera hole. Of course, you can just make this real easily by cutting a hole with your stanley knife)

DIY Walnut lip balm

FullSizeRender-35Hello guys, sorry I haven’t posted in a while… I was really busy with exams and a lot of other stuff and I didn’t really had the time to post.

But now I’m back and I’m going to show you how to make this very cute lip balm. It isn’t hard, and it’ll only take about 20 minutes to make.

What you’ll need:

  • A jar of vaseline
  • An empty walnut shell
  • A little bit of coloured candle wax
  • Paint

FullSizeRender-30

Step 1: Paint the walnut shells in a pretty colour. I chose for light pink paint because my lip balm is pink too, but you can choose whatever colour you want.

FullSizeRender-32

Step 2: Now we’re going to make the lip balm itself. To do this, put a tee spoon of vaseline and a little piece of candle wax in a glass bowl. (The candle wax is to make the lip balm a little vaster and to add colour to it. I added red wax, so the lip balm would turn out pink.) If you want, you can add a few drops of aromatic substance to it.

Step 3:Put your bowl in the microwave for about a minute, until is is a liquid substance. If you don’t have a microwave, you could also heat it up in a pan.

Step 4: When it is liquid, you can pour the lip balm into the nutshells. Make sure to fill them up almost entirely.

FullSizeRender-31

Wait for the balm to harden, it’ll become a lighter colour.

Step 5: Take a little piece of ribbon and glue it to the back of the shell. Now you can open and close it.

To make sure it’ll stay closed, add just a little bit of adhesive tape to the other side of the shell.

FullSizeRender-36

And you’re done! You’re lip balm is ready to use.
