DIY Wall decor

FullSizeRender-47
Hi guys, happy easter!

This week I’m going to show you how to make this very cute DIY wall decor. It is really easy to make, and endlessly customisable. FullSizeRender-40
What you’ll need:

  • 2 Picture frames (10 x 10 cm)
  • 2 mini canvasses (10 x 10 cm)
  • a piece of wood (10 x 10 cm)
  • paint and masking tape
  • nails and string

Canvas one:

Use masking tape to cover the sides of your canvas and make a geometric pattern on the front. Then, colour each sectioning a different bright colour. Remove your masking tape and you’ll have a really cool looking painting.

Canvas two:

This one is really cool two. Print out a silhouet of a cat (there will be a document with all the pictures I used at the end). Cut it out and stick it to the canvas with two-sided and masking  tape. Then, take a piece of cotton-wool and dip it in dark blue, purple and white paint and dab it on the canvas. DON’T RUB! When you filled the whole canvas, let it dry and then remove the picture and you’ll be left with a white silhouette of a cat.

String art:

Use little nails and hit them all around the edge of the wood, each about a centimeter apart.  Then take some string (preferably multi-coloured, as this looks the coolest), and tie this to one of the nails in the corner. Bring it to the opposite corner and pull it around the nail. Now, bring it back to the other side and around the nail to the right and back but to the nail to the left. (sorry for the bad explanation, it’s hard to explain, just look at the pictures). After you’ve been all the way round, fasten the string and you’re done.

The two frames:

I just printed out two pictures I found on the internet, one with a pineapple and one with macarons, (I will add them in a document at the end) but you can choose any pictures you want.

This is everything you’ll have:

I shuffled them a bit and then decided this was the best way to position them:

Now, all that is left is to take your two-sided tape and stick ’em to the wall.

This is how it’ll look in different situations:
