I hope you’re doing good^^
This week I decided to start a new project: an Art Dump Journal.
It’s a journal you keep and the idea is that you do something in it every day. It can be anything, from drawing to painting to stamping to sticking, anything you like!
And the best thing is: it doesn’t have to be pretty. It can be really ugly, no problem! As long as you do something in it every day.
Sometimes it might just take a few minutes, sometimes you might want to spend longer on it.
It’s just a way to let out some creativity and relax, without having to worry about it being ‘pretty’.
So here is what I’ve done so far this week:
I started off simple by just using watercolours to paint coloured horizontal and vertical stripes. It was nice to see how the different colours blend.
The second day I drew a random pattern with a pencil and used alcohol-based markers to colour it in. It was really fun to do and the end result is really nice and colourful.
The third day I used acrylic paint and put some dots on the top of the page. Then I used a ruler to smudge them out, leaving this cool pattern. This took me literally a minute to make, but it turned out quite cool.😂
On day 4 I used watercolours to just paint horizontal stripes. It’s really simple but it was fun to do.
Day 5 was really simple again, I just took my markers and coloured in some squares with the different colours. I accidentally made a mistake with the dark green colour, but that’s the fun thing about art dump journaling; making mistakes is fine!
This last day I used coloured pencils to make this kind of gradient of colours.
I’m not an expert at all these things, and it isn’t always pretty but it doesn’t have to be, as long as you have fun doing it!
Art dump journaling is a great way to relax and have some fun and you can become more familiar with using different methods and supplies.
I’m definitely going to try to keep doing this every day, and I might give you monthly updates with some of the best pages.
I definitely encourage you to try this out, as it’s a lot of fun and only takes a few minutes a day.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you did, please like, comment and/or share. I would really appreciate that. And follow me for more DIYs and creative content!
