7 Tips for starting bloggers

Hello everybody, this is not the sort of post I usually do but today I wanted to share these tips for starting bloggers. I’ve been bogging for almost a year now and I gained quite some experience. These are things I wish I would have known when I started and I hope I can help some people.

1.List of Ideas

A really great tip is to have some sort of journal to write your blogging ideas in. When I started blogging I’d often have great ideas but I’d forget them before I could make a post. So whenever you have an idea, write it down and if you haven’t got any inspiration for a new post you can just look in the journal and get loads of new ideas!

2. Tags

Tags exist. Yeah I didn’t realise that for my first 3 or 4 months of blogging. And I wondered why nobody was reading my posts… Tags allow people to find your posts, so add a few appropiate tags to each post. Don’t add more than 15 tas though, because that decreases your chance of appearing in somebody’s Discover Page.

3. Tags and Awards

This is a different kind of tag. Participating in tags and awards is just a lot of fun and by nominating others you will get nominated yourself more and more and you can build up friends in the blogging community, which is really important if you’re just starting out. At the beginning, nobody might nominate you but you can always ask to be nominated and a lot of bloggers also say: ‘I nominate anybody who wants to do it’, so you can just take that as an opportunity to do the tag/award.

4. Back-up posts

If you want to stay on a blogging schedule or goal (for example. I want to post 2 posts a week) having 1 or 2 back-up posts is really convenient. Sometimes you will find yourself simply not having enough time to write a post and you can just post one of your back-ups and stay on schedule

5. E-mail

Create a special e-mail address for your blog (mine is littlediyproject@gmail.com) and put in on your About page. If people want to ask me something, do a collab or just want to chat about something blog-relaed they can always just email me!

6. Don’t only post

A big mistake I made when I just started is that I just only posted and expected people to visit my blog out of nothing. That’s not how it works. As I said before, being a part of the community is really important. So find similar blogs you like, read their posts, comment nice things, follow other blogs and you’ll see that a lot more people will start visiting your blog too.

7.Choose the right theme

This again is very important. When I started I had a theme where only my newest post was actually visible and easy-to-visit. This resulted in people only seeing and visiting my newest posts. Now I have a theme where on my homepage a dozen of posts are shown and people can find and visit my different posts really easily, which really increased my views a lot.

I really hope these tips are helpful. The reason I’m sharing them now is that I decided to stop blogging for a while. Blogging was always a hobby for me but the last month(s) have been really busy and I started to feel really pressured to make nice posts every week so I decided to take a break until I get more time. I’m not sure for how long this will be, but I hope you’ll understand. ❤️

5 Room Organisation Hacks

Hello everybody!

I don’t know about you, but I’m a pretty messy person. I always lose things and my room is never completely tidy. But there are a few things that help me organise my room.

Here are 5 hacks for room organisation that will make your room a lot tidier.

Hack 1: Desk Organisation

My desk always gets really messy really fast. All the stuff I need lies randomly on the desk. And I just can’t concentrate well when my desk is full of stuff.

A great way to solve this is by just using a small basket and putting all the stuff you need in it.

It’s so easy but it gives your desk a much more organised look. I used a basket I wove myself from old magazines in my post DIY Woven Basket, so it cost me no money at all. The rest of your desk is clear of stuff so you can concentrate on your work.

Hack 2: Bobby Pins

I don’t remember what the actual use for this was, but it worked really well to store bobby pins in and it looks really stylish too.

Hack 3: Strings

This is my favourite hack. I’ve got a lot of strings for crafting but they always seem to turn into a tangled mess. This hack is so easy and the only things you’ll need are a few clothespins.

Just wrap the strings around the clothespins and use them to keep the end in place. Whenever you need some string you can just cut of whatever you need and put the end back. Your strings will never tangle again!

4: Notebooks

This is just a really easy hack to organise your notebooks. I have a lot of notebooks for all kinds of uses. I used this cute wooden letters and just stuck them onto the notebooks spelling ‘my diary’ ‘sketchbook’ and ‘writing prompts’. It just an easy way to determine what every notebook is for and it looks pretty nice too.

5: Jewellery.

For this hack I used an empty tea box. It was a really pretty jasmine tea box. It was perfect because it already had 9 different compartments and even a magnetic seal.

But any old tea box could easily be transformed into a jewellery box that is perfect for keeping earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

So that were the 5 organisation tips. I hope you found them useful.
